1. YOUR HOLIDAY BOOKING
a. CONFIRMATION OF BOOKING
Villa Shangri-la is offered for holiday rental, subject to confirmation by the owners to the renter. To reserve Villa Shangri-la please complete and sign the booking form and return it together with payment of the initial non-refundable booking deposit. On receipt of the booking form and deposit, we will send confirmation. This is the formal acceptance of the booking. The booking form can be downloaded as a pdf file from the Rates and Availability page of this web site. To confirm availability please contact us.
b. NUMBER OF GUESTS
The number of persons staying at Villa Shangri-la must not exceed the number of beds - Eight (8), without prior acceptance in writing. Villa Shangri-la is reserved exclusively for the guests named on the booking form and no other persons are permitted to stay without prior acceptance in writing.
c. ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE SCHEDULE
The Booking Period shall commence at 4:00pm on the first day and finish at 11:00am on the last day. We reserve the right to make a deduction from the Security Deposit if this condition is not met .
d. MINIMUM PERIOD OF RENTAL
The minimum period of rental is one (1) week. Prices are per booking per week.
2. PAYMENT
a. INITIAL NON-REFUNDABLE BOOKING DEPOSIT
A deposit of £200 per booking should be sent with the completed and signed booking form. Without this deposit the booking will not be confirmed. Once the booking is confirmed the deposit becomes non-refundable. The £200 shall be deducted from the total balance payable.
b. BALANCE OF PAYMENT
The balance of the rental and a refundable security deposit of £200.00 is to be paid 10 weeks before the commencement of the booking period. If this payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to give notice in writing that the reservation is cancelled, and Villa Shangri-la is then available for re-let for the booking period.
Please note an additional 12% Florida State Tax will be collected by the local agents upon key collection. This is based on the total rental cost.
Reservations made within 10 weeks of the commencement of the booking period require full payment at the time of booking plus the security deposit of £200.
c. REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit of £200 is required in case of expenses incurred as a result of occupancy by the Guest, for breakages, damage to the property or shortage against the inventory. However, the sum reserved by this clause shall not limit the guests' liability. We will account to the Guest for the security deposit and refund the balance within 4 weeks after the end of the booking period.
d. SURCHARGES
The prices listed are guaranteed once the booking has been confirmed. There are no surcharges.
3. RESPONSIBILITIES
a. GUEST RESPONSIBILITY
The Guest agrees to be a reasonable tenant and to take good care of Villa Shangri-la and to leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the booking period. Although a final clean is included in the price, we reserve the right to make a deduction from the security deposit to cover additional cleaning costs if the Guest leaves Villa Shangri-la in an unacceptable condition. The villa is strictly non-smoking. The Guest agrees not to act in any way, which may cause disturbance to those residents in neighbouring properties. If it is thought the Guest is likely to or is causing disturbance to residents in neighbouring properties, we have the right to terminate the booking without compensation or refund of any monies paid. The Guest shall report to our local management company, without delay, any defects in the property or breakdown in the equipment, plant, machinery or appliances in Villa Shangri–la , its grounds or swimming pool, so arrangements can be made for repair/replacement as soon as possible. The Guest shall report any breakages or damage made by the Guest during the Booking Period to our local management company (see security deposit). The Guest must ensure that the deed restrictions, placed on the Villa by the local authorities, are not breached. A copy of such restrictions are included in the Villa Shangri-la folder which is kept in the villa.
b. REPAIRS/MAINTENANCE
In the case of the need for repairs or general maintenance, our local management company have the right to enter Villa Shangri-la either indoors or outdoors accompanied by professional, trustworthy workmen, upon giving advance notice to the Guest.
4. CANCELLATIONS
a. CANCELLATIONS BY GUEST
If they wish to cancel the booking, the Guest must inform us in writing. Cancellation will become effective from the date we receive it in writing. All cancellations are subject to a charge payable by the Guest. If the cancellation is received 10 weeks or less before the booking is due to commence, there will be no return of monies paid.
If the cancellation is received more than 10 weeks before the booking is due to commence, reimbursement will be made of all monies paid less the initial non-refundable booking deposit.
b. CANCELLATION BY OWNER
In exceptional circumstances, we have the right to cancel the booking in whole or in part without penalty. In such a case the Guest will receive full reimbursement of all monies paid, including the initial non-refundable booking deposit. All effort will be made to find similar accommodation.
5. INSURANCE
We strongly recommend that the Guest arranges a comprehensive travel insurance policy (including cancellation cover) and has cover for the Guest party's personal belongings, public liability, health etc, as these are not covered by the Owners' insurance.
6. OWNERS' LIABILITY DISCLAIMER
We shall not be liable for:
a. Any loss, damage or injury caused or suffered by the Guest which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, civil or military disorder, war, strikes, natural calamities, fire or any other eventuality which is beyond the control of the owner. All these constitute 'force majeure' and are not the Owners' responsibility. Any additional expenses borne by the Guest and caused by such conditions will not be reimbursed, nor will any services lost thereby be recoverable.
b. Any loss, damage or inconvenience caused or suffered by the Guest if Villa Shangri-la shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the commencement of the Booking Period. In any such event, the owner shall, within 7 days of notification to the Guest, refund to the Guest all sums previously paid in respect of the Booking Period, including the initial non-refundable Booking Deposit.
c. Any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of local services to Villa Shangri-la , nor in any respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliance in the property itself, its grounds or swimming pool.
Under no circumstances shall the owners liability to the Guest exceed the amount paid for the Booking Period.
7. SMOKING.
We have a strictly no smoking policy.
8. JURISDICTION
In the unlikely event of any dispute, the competent jurisdiction shall be the court of Florida. A reservation implies the Guest's knowledge and acceptance without reserve or exception of the Booking Policy here set forth. If any of the conditions of the contract were or should become invalid, or if there should occur any omission, the validity of the remaining conditions will not be subject to litigation.
